How did Family Fireside come to be?
From Bay Area Beginnings:
Dione hails from the vibrant streets of East Oakland, while I'mani grew up just up the street in San Leandro. Our paths first crossed in the digital realm of Snapchat, where after multiple attempts to meet up, we finally connected in person. Our first date at the movies turned into an unforgettable evening of non-stop conversation and an undeniable connection. We knew right then and there that we had "zinged."
A Rollercoaster Ride:
Our first six years together were filled with ups and downs, challenges, and countless moments of growth. Dione came into the relationship as a father to two beautiful children, which brought its own set of complexities and dramas. Despite the hurdles, we were determined to make it work. I'mani faced the difficulties head-on, refusing to get caught up in the drama from Dione's past relationships. It was a tough journey, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, but we fought for the love we believed in.
Navigating the Storm:
Dealing with two mothers of Dione's children wasn't easy, but we persevered. We made the conscious decision to rise above the chaos and create a healthier space for ourselves and our family. It wasn't always smooth sailing, but with patience, understanding, and a lot of communication, we managed to mend fences and find common ground. Now, we're proud to say that all parents are involved and committed to co-parenting peacefully.

Our journey wasn't conventional, but it taught us invaluable lessons about love, resilience, and the power of determination. We've emerged stronger, wiser, and more united than ever. And amidst it all, our family grew with the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Nova.
